The Scandinavian Seaweed Safari

Discover the edible underwater gardens of Bohuslän, the Swedish oceans playground, with two marine biologists.

We offer you safaris from beach or boat. The boat tours depart from the Inst ön in the Marstrand area, for beach tours, location can vary but can include Tjörn and Marstrand island.

You will learn all the seaweed basics you need to know to confidently pick your own seaweed. You will be able to recognise the main local seaweeds , where to find it, how to pick it sustainably and when is the best time to pick your seaweeds.

You will also learn the different use of seaweeds and its nutritional value and you will be able to take home basic recipes and tips on how to cook with seaweed to start you on your seaweed journey.

You will learn how to care for it the seaweed you pick, what is the best way dry your seaweed and how to store it.

We will treat you with coffee/ tea and snacks, all made with our seaweed of course, which will change the way you look at seaweed forever.

Our seaweed safari takes approx. 2,5- 3 hours from the beach, 3- 3,5 hours from the boat

Time for the boat tours can change in relation to the weather and could be changed to beach-based Safari in case of bad weather.

You need to bring

  • Suitable shoes for slippery cliffs and for water.
  • Swimsuit
  • Towel
  • Water
  • Scissors
  • Bag for the seaweed you pick
  • Wetsuit and snorkel equipment if you want to join us in the water.

We can provide some masks and snorkels;

Wetsuits are not necessary during the summer, but if you have one it’s good idea to take it with you.

Boatsafari 1350,- SEK per person

Beachsafari 1200,- SEK per person

Children under 12 years: 200,-SEK for the boat safari, FOC for beach safari

Children 12-15 years: 400,- SEK per person

Minimum booking 4 adults per Safari.  Booking fee and cancelation policy.

Dates are at the moment on demand.

Maximum booked are 6 adults for a boat safari, beach safari unlimited.

Note: Due to the Corona situation, groups will be limited to maximum 6 participants even for a beach safari. Please if you feel unwell do not come, let us know, we can work something out.

Booking fee and cancelation policy for Scandinavian seaweed co courses

 

There is non-refundable booking fee of 15%.

If you need to cancel more than one month prior to the booked safari, we refund you all but the booking fee.

Cancelling between 30- 15 days, we charge 25%.

Cancelling between 14-8 days, we charge 50%

There is no refund if there is cancelling 7 days or less.

NOTE: In these uncertain times and with connection of Corona, all we ask is 15% booking fee for up to a month prior to your Seaweed Safari.
