Description
Serrated Wrack
Brown seaweed, that often dominates shallows. It grows close to the surface around almost the entire Swedish coast, except the Bothnian Sea.
Serrated wrack is well known from the seaweed baths, but it is a very good and healthy food source. It is high on minerals, such as calcium, natrium, kalium and magnesium.
Serrated wrack is together with bladderwrack incredibly rich on fucoidans. Fucoidan has the potential to be very effective in managing systemic inflammation, as well as local inflammation in the digestive tract when ingested orally and on the skin.
Suggested use:
Serrated wrack can be cooked, fried, grilled or roasted. It can be used as a vegetable or as a spice. Nutty taste
